Mariana Cowan, President / CEO

Mariana Cowan is the President and Owner of Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty, and founding member of the Mariana Cowan Home Selling System.  She is a proven leader in the Nova Scotia Real Estate Industry, as demonstrated by her 25+ years of success and results.

In 2007, Mariana was recognized as a “Billion Dollar Agent,” in Steve Kantor’s book, Billion Dollar Agent – Lessons Learned.  In 1996 she founded Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty and built the Mariana Cowan Homeselling System, Atlantic Canada’s first use of the Team Marketing Model.
Compared to the traditional single agent, the Mariana Cowan Home Selling System gives the home owner an entire team of professionals working together in the marketing and sale of the home owner’s property.  This allows Mariana to focus her talent on selling the home using fresh and exciting marketing strategies.

In 2012, Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty and the Mariana Cowan Homeselling System were ranked #1 Company and Team in the Province of Nova Scotia.  In addition, Supercity Realty was #1 in Canada for the number of homes sold.  This speaks volumes about the Mariana Cowan Homeselling System and shows that it is the most effective way to sell homes and sell them fast.
Mariana has built her reputation based on continuing education and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the real estate market both locally and internationally.  Not only does Mariana have over 10 industry designations, but she regularly delivers training on developing team systems and life balance, for REALTORS® around the world.

Ian Smith, Broker / Managing Partner

Ian has been exposed to the real estate business for over 25 years, as Mariana Cowan’s son. He earned his business degree (BBA) from Dalhousie University in 2009 and joined Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty shortly thereafter. In 2012 he became Broker of Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty.

Through his experience, knowledge and training, Ian has become one of the most trusted mentors for agents starting their career in real estate.  Ian is our lead trainer who monitors each agent as they progress in their careers and provides 1:1 coaching and support, ensuring our agents are prepared for success.  He believes agents must learn the fundamentals to build their successful career in real estate, and so he supervises new agents as they navigate their first six months in the industry.

Robert Morris, CFO
Robert is the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for educating agents on solid finances for building their career in real estate.  He will work with you to develop personal and marketing budgets, as well as projecting income and expenses to keep you on track.  A solid financial strategy is important to building your successful real estate business.
Sarah Hallam, Human Resources and Project Manager

Sarah is Human Resources and Project Manager at Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty.  She also brings with her a background in digital marketing and provides 1:1 coaching and training on social media for new agents. 

As Human Resources, she is responsible for maintaining your employment contract and providing you with benefits information.  She also organizes special events, including many of our charitable projects.

Tom Edmondson-Matthews, Advertising and Marketing

Tom is the Advertising and Marketing Specialist at Coldwell Banker Supercity Realty.  He works with our agents to assemble a marketing strategy and prepares advertisements upon request (i.e. postcards, billboards, and online images).  He also educates our agents on the various marketing platforms available to them and the most cost effective tools.

Joenna MacDonald, Licensed Administrative Coordinator

Joenna is our Licensed Administrative Coordinator with over 13 years of real estate experience.  She is a certified mentor who provides 1:1 coaching to our independent agents.  She is also responsible for inputting all of our listings, which makes her a great resource on all our properties.
